Mariah Carey has put out a sultry fashion shoot for the cover of Wonderland Magazine that is drawing plenty of attention for her sex appeal. In large part, she has photographer Terry Richardson to thank for it. He has done prior work for some big name magazines such as s GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and Vogue. For her cover shot, she was dressed down to a black bra and matching panties, thigh garters, a black cover, and long leather gloves. Admittedly, the superstar, who is one of the top three best-selling female vocalists in the US, showed off her flat stomach and her buxom upper torso. She was also toasting champagne with one hand and a nice pearl necklace in the other hand. Was the pearl necklace a double entendre?
In additional to sultry photographs, Carey was interviewed about her upcoming studio album, her first in four years. She mentioned that she incorporated her twins in one track entitled “Supernatural” and has found motherhood to be a source of artistic inspiration. Carey was one of the biggest acts of the 1990s and reached what appeared to be her peak in 2000 with a $100 million record deal with the Virgin label. However, her career went bust at that point leading to a high profile buyout as Virgin cut their losses by paying her $50 million to walk away. She later returned to the top spot with big selling recordings. To date, she has sold over 200 million records putting her in the same class of acts such as ABBA, the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, and Elvis Presley. As for her forth coming recording, she’s very proud of it and will announce the title of it shortly. She says the name is taken from what she says is an entity that has ever been part of her persona.
