The new sci-fi movie of the Wachowskis’ was initially set to be released on July 25, 2014 but it was later shifted up to February 6, 2015 due to additional time needed to complete over 2,000 special effects shots of the film and prepare an effective marketing campaign.
Jupiter Ascending centers on a Russian immigrant portrayed by Mila Kunis whose life is turned upside down when she’s discovered to possess the same perfect genetic makeup as the alien Queen of the Universe. She will be a great threat for the immortal queen. A bounty hunter called Caine portrayed by Channing Tatum is dispatched to ensure that the Queen’s legacy remains safe. Like you can imagine, in every movie with a strong man protagonist and a strong woman protagonist, he (Channing Tatum) fall in love with the Russian immigrant (Mila Kunis) throwing a wrench in the evil queen’s plan.
This movie is being promoted in all the Comic-Cons around America. In San Diego, the 45th year of the convention, Jupiter Ascending will be promoted. The Comic-Con is very important for Jupiter Ascending because after they postpone the release date until February, 2015, the movie will need aggressive marketing techniques and the Comic-Con is crucial to continue the movie momentum.
The cast of this movie is outstanding. Includes: Channing Tatum (“Magic Mike”), Mila Kunis (“Oz the Great and Powerful”), Sean Bean (“The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy) and the Oscar-winning director of photography John Toll (“Braveheart”). The music is composed by the Oscar winner Michael Ciacchino (“Up”).
The special effects of Jupiter Ascending will be out of this world. It will show the cutting-edge visual effects that have become the benchmarks of the Wachowskis’ films. Dan Glass (“Batman Begins”, Cloud Atlas”) is the film’s visual effects supervisor, a post he has occupied for the Wachowskis since “The Matrix” Trilogy. Enough said, Jupiter Ascending is a movie worth watching. Now we have to wait until February, 2015 to enjoy this fest of special effects and great actors.
