Gaspé, Québec – Right-wing fishwife Ann Coulter, attending a seal-hunting class in Quebec, took time out of her agenda Tuesday to add her thoughts and prayers to the public outpouring over Senator Edward Kennedy’s hospitalization – only Coulter is rallying around cancer rather than its latest senate victim.

Coulter, who has carved a lucrative niche in the elite circuit of shock jocks, pundits and self-published authors, called the malignant glioma that Senator Kennedy has been diagnosed with ” … the first opportunity for real political change in Massachusetts since the Chappaquiddick bridge incident.”

However, she urged “cautious optimism” until a more detailed diagnosis became available, cautioning that survival times can extend to as many as five years in slower-growing manifestations of the disease.

“Like any red-blooded American, my thoughts and prayers are with this malignant glioma that has, like the hand of God, touched Senator Kennedy,” Coulter said in a prepared statement. “Unlike the political pansies of my party who are feigning sorrow, I have the guts to proclaim the joy that all in our Party are feeling on this special day.”

Coulter, who is in Quebec to help officials with the Canadian Fisheries Ministry improve methods of skinning baby seals alive, refused to answer questions after her brief press conference, saying only that she planned to call in on Rush Limbaugh’s show later to offer further commentary on Kennedy’s condition.
